Solar UK: New Solar Operated House Sign Light launched

Identifying buildings is a problem that we all face from time to time. Sometimes it's because buildings have no identification on them whatsoever, other times it's because the numbering in streets is confusing. Often however its because its just too dark to see. Cambridgeshire based LightSense Limited believes that it now has the simple and effective solution to identifying buildings both at day and night.

LightSense Limited has launched a solar operated sign light that looks just like a normal building sign during the day, but then as the daylight reduces at the end of the day, the ultra bright LED lights come to light up the sign display. This new sign light is gloriously simple to install with no wires and obviously operates automatically even during power cuts."

The new Sign Light was originally intended to be used solely as a house number light to enable houses to be identified both day and night. However the sign lights are now also being requested with names and graphics on them. Home owners are ordering them with house names on them and commercial establishments are ordering them with words on them to identify their main line of activity, for example Squash Club and Veterinary Surgery. Another use for the sign lights that has come about since the recent launch has for directions. Companies have been asking for the sign lights to be supplied with arrows on the display.

Matthew Ware, spokesman for the East Anglian Ambulance Trust stated, "We are fully supportive of anything which can help ambulance crews to quickly and easily identify buildings. Crews often waste crucial minutes searching for badly displayed, damaged or missing building signs. With conditions such as cardiac arrests each minute wasted could have a huge effect on whether the patient lives or dies."

The solar operated sign light from LightSense Limited, which uses 3 x 1.2v Ni-Mh re-chargeable batteries, provides light for up to 14 hours. House numbers can either be applied using the self-adhesive numbers provided. Alternatively, LightSense can supply Sign Lights with the numbers, names or graphics pre-applied. It measures H 165mm, W 220mm, D 50mm.
